Waste water from fibreboard mills.

Information about waste water from the manufacture offibreboard is given, and in this connection a classification of suspended and dissolved impurities occurring in the waste water of fibreboard mills is made. The influence on the concentration and the total amount of such impurities are discussed as a function of the extent of closing of the process wa ter system. Various methods of treatment are reported and methods for obtaining small quantities of waste water with a correspondingly high concentration of impurities are discussed. Further, the possibilities of eliminating the impurities by evaporation of the waste water and burning of the evaporation concentrate are discussed. In this connection other possibilities of eliminating the impurities are mentioned, e.g. treatment by the activated sludge method, flocculation, fodder yeast manufacture, etc.
